Being asked to do events is my favorite part of “doing the work” for the community. From the time I was in high school, I had dreams of being a motivational speaker. Speaking in front of an audience and sharing mental health tips is my pure joy. Keep scrolling, some events are featured below!

Line to Hope
Synopsis: Through an unlikely connection, Jim, a troubled man, contemplating violence, encounters Jane, someone looking to help. Exploring racism, xenophobia and the impacts of gun violence, LINE TO HOPE by Courtney Alex is a powerful and thought provoking exploration into the complexities of mental health, societal pressures, and genuine human connection.

Family Day of Wellness
I hosted a workshop with parents at the Tyler’s Foundation Family Day of Wellness. The goal of my workshop was to educate parents on how to normalize conversations around thoughts, feelings, and behavior. By normalizing these sorts of conversations, we can model how to effectively communicate and manage our emotions. By modeling these skills, we encourage children to do the same.

Black Wellness Weekend
Black Wellness Weekend was organized by the Berkeley Haas Black Business Student Association (BBSA). This association was created to uplift and empower the Black community. This weekend was all things wellness with fireside chats, poolside dinner, mixers, physical fitness sessions, hiking, wellness expo, and more.

From Water to Wine
Founded by Charlene Carr, From Water to Wine (FWTW) holds events and programs designed to create an authentic, relaxed, and enjoyable atmosphere that promotes meaningful conversations with other women. As the site describes, “A less traditional approach to your spiritual journey.” On this day, I was asked to be a speaker to discuss the topic: Positioning Yourself for Abundance and Overflow

Elevate Winter Series: Health of Our Protest
Elevate Theatre Company provides space for audiences and artists to explore health and well-being through the art of storytelling. The Winter Series aims to Redefine the Stage by hosting a series of digital events that explore major public health topics. Elevate engages audiences through performative storytelling and then provides a panel discussion post performance for further exploration.

Trap Yoga Bae's Trap Day -Oakland
Trap Yoga Bae is amazing! her IG: trapyogabae
She provides yoga and affirmations for the culture. She is inclusive and empowers people to be themselves. On this day, she had vendors, she provided her yoga class, and also hosted her own workshop. I was invited to be a vendor and speaker at the event.
